Understanding Growth vs Maturation
Growth and maturation are often used interchangeably, but they describe different processes:
Growth refers to physical changes you can measure, such as height and body mass.
Maturation refers to the body's internal biological timing — when systems like bones, muscles, and hormones develop.
Two children of the same chronological age can be years apart biologically, even if they look similar on the surface. This difference is completely normal and largely influenced by genetics.
