Hi Parent, and Welcome to MatCalc.

My name’s Bob. I’ve worked in professional sport since 2005 — over 15 years as a strength & conditioning coach, and now several more managing athlete data systems for the England & Wales Cricket Board.

I’m also a parent of three young children, and we’re just beginning our own journey into youth sport. Despite my coaching background, I still find myself with the same questions and doubts many of you may have:

How hard should I push? When do they need protecting? Am I doing what’s best for them — or risking doing too much?

Why We Built MatCalc2.0

MatCalc2.0 is the result of real, lived experience — mine as a coach trying to manage squads of young athletes, all on different timelines, in elite performance environments.

It’s hard. Each child grows and matures differently. And staying on top of it all — knowing who needs what and when — is a mountain of work for any coach. Maturation is just one piece of a very complex puzzle.

But from the parent’s side? It’s no easier. You want clarity. Confidence.
